This privacy policy is provided by BIP Wealth, LLC (“BIP”). BIP values our clients and makes it a top priority to safeguard the confidential information of our clients. We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining your trust and confidence.  

BIP collects information about you to assist us in providing services and products to help you meet your financial goals and to provide high standards of client service. Additionally, information is obtained from you to help us fulfill our legal and regulatory requirements. Information collected may vary depending on the scope of your engagement with us.  

What Information Do We Collect and From Where?  

BIP collects nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:  

  • Information provided on applications and related forms, such as name, address, telephone number, Social Security or Tax Identification number, birth date, net worth, annual income, information about your personal finances, tax and estate planning, and financial information such as bank accounts.  
  • Information about your transactions with us, such as accounts balances, account numbers, and account activity.  
  • Information we may receive from non-affiliated third parties, including consumer reporting agencies.  
  • Information from cookies and/or tracking pixels on our website.  

What Information Do We Disclose and To Whom Do We Disclose It?  

We do not disclose any nonpublic information about you without your express consent, except as permitted by law and as needed to provide the services you have requested. This applies to current as well as former clients. We train our staff to take caution in handling personal information. We restrict access to nonpublic information about you to staff that need to know such information, who assist in providing products and services to you, or who assist in the administration of the office, to maintain confidentiality of your information. Limited access is given to nonaffiliated third parties, as permitted by law, to execute securities transactions on your behalf, or to provide account maintenance or customer service on your accounts.  

We may disclose personal information obtained from you to financial services providers that service or provide support to your accounts, as permitted under law, such as:  

  • RIA custodians  
  • Third-party administrators and vendors hired to effect, administer, or enforce transactions or services to your accounts  

We will not share information about you with nonaffiliated third parties, unless we have provided you with an updated Privacy Notice, along with an opportunity to approve or disapprove of the sharing of your information.  

BIP is affiliated with BIP Holdings, LLC, BIP Capital, LLC, and LAGO Asset Management as we share common ownership.  

BIP may be required, by law or regulation, to disclose information to third parties such as in response to a subpoena, to prevent fraud, to comply with rules and regulations to which we are subject, in response to inquiries from industry regulators, and to comply with our custodians’ policies.  

Data Security and Breach Notification 

BIP Wealth maintains a written information security program designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and security of nonpublic personal information. Our safeguards include physical, electronic, and procedural controls appropriate to the size and complexity of our operations and the sensitivity of the information we handle. 

In the event of a data breach or unauthorized access to your nonpublic personal information, BIP Wealth will notify affected individuals in accordance with the requirements of SEC Regulation S-P and any other applicable law. Where required, we will provide notice without unreasonable delay and, to the extent required by law, within 30 days of discovering that a breach has occurred. Notice will include a description of the incident, the type of information involved, and steps you may take to protect yourself.

Retention of Client Information 

BIP Wealth retains nonpublic personal information about current and former clients for the period required by applicable laws and regulations, including SEC 204-2 governing books and records for registered investment advisers. In general, this means client records are retained for a minimum of five years from the date of creation, with certain records retained for the life of the firm. 

Our commitment to protecting the privacy of your nonpublic personal information extends throughout the period we retain your records and applies equally to former clients. When records are no longer required to be retained, they are disposed of in a manner designed to protect against unauthorized access. 

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools 

BIP Wealth uses artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support certain internal business operations. These tools are used by our team members for purposes such as drafting and reviewing documents, conducting research and analysis, supporting financial planning workflows, and improving operational efficiency. 

We do not use AI tools to make autonomous decisions about your accounts, financial plans, or investment recommendations. Any AI-assisted work that affects client-facing communications or financial content is reviewed by a qualified BIP Wealth team member before it is used or distributed. 

How We Protect Your Information 

We maintain strict controls governing the use of AI tools by our staff. Our internal policy requires that personally identifiable financial information (PIFI) may only be entered into AI tools that have appropriate security controls and contractual protections in place. When AI tools are used in connection with PIFI or specific categories of client data (such as estate planning documents), we use purpose-built, vendor-managed platforms that meet these standards. 

AI tools used by BIP Wealth that may process any non-financial operational data (such as contact information used in business workflows) are governed by vendor agreements that include data protection commitments consistent with our obligations under applicable law. 


Notice to California Residents 

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), may provide you with certain rights regarding your personal information. This section describes those rights and how to exercise them. 

Categories of Information Collected 

As described in this Privacy Policy, we collect personal information in connection with providing investment advisory services. This includes identifiers (such as name, address, and contact information), financial information, and information derived from your transactions and relationship with us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. 

Your Rights Under California Law 

Subject to applicable exceptions – including those under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), which governs the privacy of financial information held by investment advisers – California residents may have the right to: 

Know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, and the purposes for which it is used; 

Request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable exceptions; 

Correct inaccurate personal information; 

Option out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: BIP Wealth does not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes); 

Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. 

Please note that many categories of financial information we hold as a registered investment adviser are exempt from certain CCPA/CPRA requirements under the GLBA exemption. However, we are committed to being transparent and responsive to your privacy requests to the extent permitted by law.
